Q: Does this take place during school hours?
A: Yes! Our Real Reality Checks are a 1-day retreat designed to teach creative teens approaches to eliminate bullying, show compassion to their peers, and eliminate other forms of discrimination at their schools
Q: Does this take place on my child’s school campus?
A: At this time, our retreats take place at the nearest public recreation center in relation to your child's school.
Q: Do I need to sign any paperwork for Reality Check?
A: Prior to the retreat date, your child will have a permission slip that must be signed and returned in order for participation.
Q: Who will be running Reality Check?
A: Reality Checks are run by our trained staff (you can meet them here) and a plethora trained R.E.A.L. facilitators and adult volunteers. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, click here for more information.
Q: Does my child receive credit for attending?
A: At this time, students will not receive a credit for attending a R.E.A.L. Reality Check.
Q: Is my child excused from regular class during Reality Check?
A: Yes! If your child is in attendance of Reality Check, he or she is excused from classes for the day. Be sure that your child check with their teachers to ensure any missed class work is made up.
Q: What supplies should my child bring?
A: No supplies are required! All we ask is that your child come with an open mind and heart!
Q: How much does is cost?

Q: Is lunch provided?
A: Yes! A lunch will be provided to those in attendance.
Q: Does my child receive a class credit for the R.E.A.L. class?

A: Yes! The R.E.A.L. class is an elective course currently offered at some high schools in Lafayette parish.
